A strong debut from Clive Tonge, Mara gets a little bogged down by its formulaic narrative, but does have some gems hidden amongst it. As Kate digs into the case, she unearths a community of people who claim to be tormented by a shadowy menace, a centuries-old demon who kills her victims as they sleep. | Because I am.
Long story short, Kate's decisions land Helena, the mother, in an insane asylum, basically orphaning Sophie. Don’t worry, it won’t take long. Only one woman understood it.
