Had to stop reading this rubbish so who knows it might be fabulous in the end but I will never know. I was unsure whether to watch this show, based on the trailer I had seen, and I certainly wouldn't have paid to watch it. Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, and literally the whole cast was superb, and the story was so layered and intriguing, that this was a real treat to watch. I loved the book but this adaptation Is awful.

A magnificent novel — disquieting, addictive and unutterably sad And race didn’t seem to have a apart to play in the book but it’s been made into a big thing in the show, right from episode 1.
