It does not stand in the way of creation, is getting better all the time, the UI is quick and the sync to everything tight. If the metronome is activated (2ND+LIVE), the metronome will clickIf OFF, the step note learn with an external keyboard is disabled (seeIf MIDI IN, Pyramid STEP MODE will learn notes (or chords) of your external midi keyboard. If MIDI IN + LIVE, when playing a note/chord in LIVE MODE with the internal keyboard, this note/chord will be selected in STEP mode. With autorec on, as soon as you assign a CC control and move it to set the value, an automation message is created to store this value (you can display it or remove it in stepmode CC MESSAGES). With Hermod's rock-solid clock, this module becomes a great synchronization tool for all your setup! It’s the perfect device for computer-less control of your arsenal of mono or polyphonic MIDI keyboards and devices, drum machines and modular gear.
For example, if AUTO PATTERN = ON, when you select SE03, all patterns will change to P03. Pyramid is designed to be the perfect brain for your musical setup, from studio to stage. and couldn't ever figure out what the interface wanted me to do.I got my Pyramid today and immediately was able to record a riff, quantize it, edit it, save project/load project. I guess that’s a yes.I thought the Pyramid also has conditionals and polyrhythms?squarp pyramid has polyrythm and Euclidean sequencer.also can control cv. IMHO a better solution is the Behringer CMD.They cost about $35 new and work fine for launching, recording etc, done exclusively for Ableton and works on iPad too.Edit: I use Ableton for recording midi or audio into Ableton from DT or VSTs and triggering with CMD.I wasn’t talking about controlling Ableton, I just mentioned Scenes as an example… but it sounds like both DT and Pyramid can do similar.interesting post in this case i will take the Digitakt instead of Pyramid and save for a CirklonI actually emailed Sequentix and asked them to make a cheaper Cirklon with fewer MIDI ports How did you find the midi sequencing in the other boxes limiting?
This message will be sent at the start of the track, so your synthesizer will always have the right set value. If "play/pause" selected, a press on the PLAY pad will alternately play and pause the playback. Makes me want to smash it up with a hammer lol.I seen the Pyramid, but it is only a sequencer (I think) and my synth is only 8-voice.
You don’t need all that much to get stuff done, and the Digi’s sweet spot is the essence of that. The ‘Ermot’ is soon available, and is compare-able – both to the Digitakt and to the Pyramid.I think the Digitakt wins out (for me it’s operational interface, + PLUS the sampler) – unless you’re doing Eurorack (as i am) in which case the CV/Gate interface makes a good argument for the Hermod in addition to a Digitakt.I also wouldn’t use Pyramid for that.
I like all the CV and Gate connections, 8 … Selects the DIN SYNC clock speed (outputted on the 2 free pins of the midiB connectorThe DIN SYNC clock can be sent only when the player is playing, or always (when player is stopped or played).Sets the action that will be triggered by the footswitch pedal.Sets the second action that will be triggered by the footswitch pedal (if "stereo" double pedal used).Sets the number of beat (or PPQN) the player will move forward each time Pyramid receive an analog clockEnable the LIVE looper recording and select the looper time quantization (seeIn NOTE and CHORD stepmodes, double tap a pad to enter velocity accents or gliding notes. I like all the CV and Gate connections, 8 of each, and has 4 CV inputs. Then, rotate the menu encoder to calibrate a precise 1.000V, and click the menu encoder. As always though everyone is differnt.
The Pyramid mk2 hardware sequencer by Squarp is touted as, “the ultimate brain for your setup, from studio to stage”. I have my Analog Rytm synced to Ableton Live over USB (no Overbridge) and when I press the tempo button on the AR while Live is running the tempo has a regular fluctuation of ±0.1 BPM… so if the tempo is set to 130 in Live, the reading on the AR will fluctuate between 129.9 and 130.1 in regular intervals (around 1 second).
