Alex, Gert, Chase, Nico, Molly and Katherine try to survive as runaways on the streets. Gert’s speech is lovely (and Ariela Barer does a great job delivering it), everyone looks great,and even the slow-motion the Runaways team has come to rely on a bit too heavily this season works; at least when it’s showcasing Chase and Molly dancing under falling confetti. Midway through the season, Jonah's spaceship explodes with his trapped family inside and, moments later, Nico plunges her staff through the Big Bad's chest. And Karolina has come clean about her meetings with Jonah. Everyone else is accounted for, either an alien or in an alien pantry, right? Gregg Sulkin has a lot of fun as Chase plays negotiator and delivers an inspirational sports speech to a sleeping Gert, evoking Livvie brings AWOL to The Hostel after he threatens her family, and the bulk of the episode is taken up by a standoff between the strike team and the Runaways.

He's way too calm at the end of the season, andMolly's probably too strong, physically, to be taken over by an alien host, but what about Nico? His alien wife is living inside Stacey Yorkes, Gert and Molly's mom. Jonah speculates that if it was one of the parents they would know by now.
Finally, apparently under the influence of the staff, she tells the strike team to “get out” and seemingly disintegrates them.There are definitely some good moments peppered throughout this plot, at least, mostly because of Chase. That would be a twist, right? Geoffrey and Catherine Wilder are both under arrest, courtesy of Alex. That said, there's just one member of Jonah's family missing, and nobody knows who it could be. "He's our son," Mrs. Jonah explains, "and you know how unpredictable he is â wild! Runaways Season 1 ended with Karolina, Nico, Alex, Molly, Chase, and Gert finally “running away” from their privileged lives after a battle with the series’ big bad — their own parents. Maybe that's why her brain was scrambled in the finale, instead of the drone. This feels like where we should be closer to the end of the season, right? Stacey, it turns out, somehow managed to release an airborne pathogen that made Old Lace sick, and only has enough of the antidote to cure one of the two. Gert meets the guy she flirted with in the last season, a doofus named Earl. Will this plot wind up connecting back with the aliens slowly taking over the rest of Pride? Gert and Chase were childhood friends who grew apart after the death of Nico's sister, but her death anniversary two years later brings their whole group of friends back together. Leslie is committed to destroying the church, but... hasn’t shut it down, or stopped services from happening? (In particular, Chase admitting that Alex is smart even if he’s been messing everything up is fun, and a good moment between the two frequently self-assured boys.) Though Leslie expresses a desire to just put their family back together and leave, he’s unable to put the church behind him. Combined with Chase briefly expressing interest in his boss at Pride in the last episode, it seems like their relationship really is done, which isn’t the worst thing. The final shot of the season shows the victims he incapacitated in battle -- Chase, his mother Janet, and Karolina -- in stasis chambers, ready to be used as sacrifices. That's allowed Jonah 2.0 to take over and reshape it with his family possessing Stacey and Tina. to keep AWOL trapped inside. Their daughter, whose favorite part about being human is apparently frosting, is masquerading as Nico's mother Tina Minoru.
Back when Gert was dead a couple of years ago, Chase saw a girl in the street who looked exactly like her.
They’re going to be great exes. It took 11 episodes, but for a brief moment, everyone is happy. There’s some good stuff in “Hostile Takeover,” sort of. Jonah is basically on full tilt, sick and desperate to the point of trying to kidnap Geoffrey Wilder as a sacrifice.
