(A blog from the Creative Studios at Hallmark.)

Thank you for this tutorial. Finally, thread another felt ball to disguise the knot and add a loop at the top to hang.

Pinning and social shares are always welcome and very much appreciated! Or would you prefer to buy one? These embroidery hoop pin boards from The Casual Craftlete are just what every office needs! Not only are they functional, but they’re extremely pretty too. I love it when you share! Repeat with the other three strings at regular intervals around the hoop. Attach a jute rope to at least three points and your hanger is ready. I found that some of the ribbon wanted to slide around and come undone. Is there a specific/special way? Expecting a baby is such an exciting time in your life and it’s only natural to want to give your baby the best of everything.

Thank youWe design, write, illustrate, letter, play, sing, invent, or sometimes just sit around and muse.

This does not seem complicated, I have to try! Hallmark designer Lindsay H. shows us how to make embroidery hoop baby mobiles. I’m going to try it for my daughter. Then tighten the outside hoop. My name is Kate and I share DIY, crafts and free printables over at my blog While I was pregnant I became so excited to decorate a nursery and I think I spent about 95% of my day on Pinterest coming up with decor ideas!

I'm very grateful for your shares. Follow the easy tutorial steps to create this gorgeous baby mobile that you can customize for a girl or boy. It really is very easy! Then, naturally, I gathered a few Hallmark friends together for a workshop. >>> >>> >>> We love this at Little Mashies headquarte… Then where the two pieces of twine that you already tied on meet you’ll knot the third piece several times. Thank you!

Im making this for my grandson!

Question though, how do you hang these from the ceiling?

)Thread the needle with the embroidery floss and then push the needle through the felt balls starting with the top one first.Position the first ball about a foot down on the floss and keep adding the balls on, spacing them how you would like. I hope our mobile ideas inspire you to create your own mobile for a gift, your own nursery or really any room in your house. I plan to make one for each of my future little ones as well. Just fit the cotton dolly between the boundaries of the hoop, i.e. You can find a more in depth tutorial in our wood bead necklace post: A Great Idea.

Make sure you leave enough extra floss at the top to hang the hoop. But sometimes money can be an issue or you just want to get creative and make something very special for your unborn child! I thought a handmade mobile would be a beautiful touch, but I just never got around to making one. Do not remove any watermarks, crop, or edit any of my images without first obtaining written permission from me. Now take the extra floss from each of those and add the center string of balls.Hold it up to make sure the mobile hangs evenly and then tie them all together in a knot. That was before I discovered my creative side.

Take the floss just above the top ball and wrap it a couple times around the hoop. I wish I had made something so pretty for my daughter when she was a baby.

The felt balls will stay in place on their own, but you can easily move them up or down to change the spacing. After you’ve threaded all the felted balls, you can start assembling your mobile. You want your four strings of balls to be evenly spaced on the embroidery hoop. !I love this idea!
