Another problem is also the fact that you never buy into these two being in love to the point where you're truly heartbroken about what happens. I do recommend this film if you are into the genres I mentioned earlier. There's nothing the film can do, visually, to blind me to that fact. It's obvious this film had a larger budget than both Grave Encounters, so they clearly played around with that a lot as the film, visually, at least, is really damn good. Reading the synopsis, one couldn't possibly expect to see a groundbreaking film.

As I look back I realize the movie makers actually had the intention of mixing up a classic teenage horror with the classic sci-fi - conspiracy theory genre. BUT apart from that, the overall performance was amazing! The beginning and the middle are cliché but the ending is a surprising twist even though a lot of the stuff is "borrowed".

Despite some decent moments and one genuinely shocking curve ball, the film, on the whole, was pretty poor.
